Morrisons and Waitrose reveal exact date online Christmas delivery slots will open

Send Push

Shoppers can get a jump on their Christmas shops, as two of Britain’s biggest supermarkets launch delivery slots from today.

Morrisons Delivery Pass customers can book their slots from today, giving them the chance to plan ahead for the festive period. People should keep in mind there is a minimum spend of £25, but people with the pass can secure their preferred delivery day between December 20 and 24.

Customers without a Morrisons Delivery Pass will be able to book their Christmas slots from a little later in the month, on October 9.

Andrew Everson, head of online at Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons, we know how important convenience is during this time of year, so we’re excited to announce we’re opening our Christmas delivery slots earlier this year. With our Delivery Pass, customers can also find a plan which best fits their needs for the upcoming festivities.”

Delivery passes can be bought on the Morrisons website and also mean customers do not incur delivery charges.

Meanwhile, Waitrose shoppers can also now book their Christmas slots to take away any potential headaches in the run up to the big day. The firm does not have its own delivery passes and slots are first come, meaning the slots may be snapped up quickly. As well as delivery slots, people can also book click and collect from today.

The pair follows Marks and Spencer announcing its Christmas Food to Order service, which was announced on September 24. Food to Order allows customers to order their Christmas food shop in advance, ready for pick up at your local M&S on December 22, 23 or 24. This also has a minimum spend, of £50, and you’re required to put a deposit down to secure your shop.

The outstanding balance is then cleared when you pick up your goods. You can book your slot on the M&S Food to Order website and browse its full Christmas range online now.

Last year, a record-breaking 44,000 customers booked their Christmas collection slots within the first day of the site launching - and M&S is expecting another record number of people this year. The supermarket has already sold over one million Christmas products in stores.
