National Lottery results: Lucky Brit scoops £7.4m Lotto jackpot

The National Lottery has told Britons to urgently check their Lotto tickets after one person won a massive seven-figure sum in tonight's draw.

Lotto representatives said this evening that one person in the UK has won a massive, life-changing £7.4 million following tonight's draw. Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said anyone who has played tonight should give the organisation a call if they find they've managed to match their numbers with those drawn tonight.

He said: “Amazing news, one lucky ticket-holder has won tonight’s £7.4M jackpot. What an incredible, life-changing moment for this lucky Lotto winner! Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s winner." Tonight's six winning Lotto numbers were 02, 11, 13, 17, 39, 41.

The seventh, bonus number, was 37. While the latest total won in the UK is massive, it is still several times less than the largest jackpot ever won in the UK, a massive £66 million won by a couple in 2023. A comparatively massive amount was won by another married couple earlier this year.

Richard and Debbie Nuttall from Colne were announced as the winners of a £61 million EuroMillions jackpot in February. The two said they initially believed that they had won just £2.60, enough for a "bacon butty", before he checked an email and discovered the true sum.

Richard said: "So I went through to Debs and I said we've won £2.60 on the lottery and she was like: 'Woohoo, we'll go and have a bacon butty or something with that."' Richard said he found the £2.60 was actually from an earlier win before finding the massive £61,708,231 was from the latest game.

Mr Nuttall said they jumped up and down in their car seats when they realised they had won, after driving around the Canary islands "desperately" searching for phone signal so they could check their numbers.

Mr Carter said: “By playing any National Lottery game, players generate £30M each week for National Lottery-funded projects. With over 690,000 grants having been made across the UK, this money supports everything from arts to the sport sectors – from the local charity making a difference where you live through to helping our nation’s athletes win Olympic and Paralympic medals.”
