This is the remarkable moment a new mum cradles her newborn son after giving birth in the middle of seating lounge in front of passengers.
Fire rescue teams responded to an urgent medical call at the airport, just after 5pm on Tuesday, after the female passenger’s water broke, and she started giving birth near the pre-security area. According to one passenger, it is believed the mum was in between flights to go to another state when her water broke.
Heart-warming 911 audio captured the moments after the woman went into labour, with the baby in the mother's arms. “It’s alive! It’s alive?” said an official to a 911 operator. “Yeah!” said another official. “OK. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on,” said the official who was speaking with the operator. “We got a boy!” said a nearby officer. The 911 operator then quickly got to work locating the ambulance to the airport, with medics just minutes away.
“Rescue 40. Your ETA? Baby was delivered, Rescue 40?” said the female 911 operator. “Rescue 40. We’re still approximately seven minutes out,” said a paramedic to the operator. Mobile phone footage shows the mum on the ground after she delivers her healthy baby boy surrounded by a team of medics. Paramedics rushed the woman and child to a local hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The airport drama comes after a man who had a was kicked off a plane after his scalp began to leak.
Eugenio Ernesto Hernandez-Garnier, 27, caught the attention of flight attendants when he and girlfriend Yusleydis Blanca Loyola, 32, boarded with a visible head wound at on Monday night. Police said he had been requested to clean and switch his soiled bandage before the flight took off, but he told them he had no replacements.
After staff grew concerned about his wellbeing and potential blood contamination, he and Loyola were asked to leave the plane. But the couple staunchly refused, and Las Vegas man Hernandez-Garnier is said to have declared that 'if they could not fly, no one else can either'.
Hernandez-Garnier and Loyola still did not move when police arrived, resulting in them being arrested and removed from the plane. Loyola broadcasted live on TikTok as the situation unfolded, loudly asserting in Spanish that the blood on her partner was merely dried up from a recent operation. The incident also saw passengers to leave the plane over health concerns. Those who stayed broke out in cheers and applause as the unruly couple were escorted away.
