Newsboy's horse racing selections for Wednesday's four meetings, including Wetherby Nap

PRIMOZ can make his first chase start a winning one in the Mary Lofthouse Supporting Spinal Research Handicap Chase (2.30) over one mile and seven furlongs at Wetherby.

Lucinda Russell’s former pointer was bought for a fair sum of money – £150,000 – before he made a successful hurdling introduction at Ayr over two miles last November.

He found a Haydock Grade 2 a step too far later that same month, but made amends with a strong display on his handicap debut back at the Scottish venue in April, beating Balboa by three-quarters of a length.

The six-year-old has the potential to become a fine prospect now he takes on the bigger obstacles.

Later on the same card HURLERONTHEDITCH is the pick in the Watch Racing TV In HD Novices' Handicap Chase (4.30) over an extended two miles and five furlongs.

The eight-year-old made his chasing debut at Warwick last November and had the race at his mercy when 25 lengths clear at the last, but slipped on landing.

Kim Bailey’s gelding failed to reproduce that form in subsequent runs but then bounced back in April to finish a decent second when returning to Warwick.

With his yard in such excellent form at present, and having more experience over the bigger obstacles than his rivals, he is expected to feature prominently.
