A major police manhunt is underway after a teenager has been left fighting for their life following a in the centre of Nottingham.
The young victim was rushed to after they were stabbed in the chest in High Street, near Old Market Square, at 4am this morning.
say the victim remains in a critical condition and a major investigation is now underway into what happened during the attack and appeal has been made to the public for information.
Witnesses have been asked to come forward and police are working to gather evidence in the city centre. Cheapside, between Old Market Square and the Lace Market tram stops, has been cordoned off and trams are currently unable to pass through the area.

Chief Inspector Iain Blackstock, of , said that the investigation is at an early stage but the force would like to hear from anyone who may have seen something "suspicious".
He said: “This assault left a young person in hospital with a stab wound to his chest. Our investigation is still at an early stage and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened. We are working in the area to gather evidence and would also like to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward. If you saw this attack or anything at all suspicious in the moments before and after we would like to hear from you.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 90 of 17 November 2024. Reports can also be made anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, the force added.
Many people have taken to social media to wish the teenager well. One person wrote on : "The we know now scares me I just pray my children will always be safe when out. I hope the teenager recovers from this ordeal." And another commented: "It's so worrying for parents with teenagers."
