Send Push

Noughties is an era many people are glad to see the back of - but one controversial item seems to be making a comeback, and it's left people horrified.

Y2K is having a big moment with low-waisted jeans, UGG boots and skimpy skirts making a return once again. Another staple Noughties look that we'll all remember is denim mini shorts and tights - but are you ready to wear them again?

Their resurgance is haunting many millennials who thought their denim shorts days were over. It's a look that was constantly seen on Tumblr and other blogs at the time. However, Gen Z clothing brand owner and fashion influencer Aimee Smale has declared it is officially back back.

She posted a video of herself to TikTok wearing a cropped black coat, black sunnies, light denim mini shorts, black sheer tights and pointed-toe heels while out and about in New York. She captioned the video: "10-year-old me is screaming, tights + denim," and while the post went viral, it had a mixed reaction from fans.

Some are thrilled that the look is back, with many able to channel their inner teenage days, while others are a little more horrified that it's back once again.

One person said: "Looks more chic than when I would wear the Topshop turn-up ones with Converse," and another said: "Omg, I wore this combo all the time; I love it so much. I'm going to wear it again!" However some weren't convinced, as one stated: "I do not accept this trend coming back," and another added: "This is a trend I could never get in to, something about tights under my shorts doesn't sit right with me."

Meanwhile UK influencer also wore the 2000's 'fit in a recent post. She shared a snap wearing denim shorts, sheer tights, an oversized cream jumper with a blazer, paired with black sunnies, brown boots and knee high socks. She shared the look to her where fans were quick to gush about her look. One person wrote: "Outfit goalsss," while another chimed: "Love the blazer and the whole outfit."
