Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen bursts into tears after heartbreaking family loss

Send Push

Amanda Owen was left emotional as she announced the death of a loved one.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star was visibly moved as she said a heartfelt goodbye to Little Joe, the family's beloved Shetland pony. In an emotional scene from a repeat episode originally broadcast in 2021, Amanda, surrounded by her children in the stable, struggled to keep her composure as she asked: "So what do you think, Nancy?"

Nancy replied: "He was quite good," leading a tearful Amanda to respond: "He was good, wasn't he? " When Nancy pointed at another horse and questioned: "He loved everything that we did for him, is that horse going to die? " Amanda reassured her: "No, Tony is just young."

Curious, Nancy probed further: "What happened? Did he get old to die? " To which Amanda explained: "He did, he didn't suffer, he just dropped. He just had a heart attack." Nancy offered comfort, telling her mum: "He has been fed really good and he's grown a lot and he's really cosy."

Amanda responded: "I don't think there could be a better looked-after pony," as reported by Yorkshire Live, reports Leeds Live. The Owen clan came together for a poignant farewell to Little Joe, with Amanda sharing her grief on camera, confessing: "We're going to miss him."

Following the end of Our Yorkshire Farm, the Owen offspring have largely steered clear of the public eye, with the exception of Reuben who has embarked on his own Channel 5 adventure. Nevertheless, fans can anticipate a reunion as the Owens are set to return to screens in an upcoming new series.

The show's description reveals: "After buying a run-down property nearby, for their family's future, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive, and Kids will follow their journey to breathe life back into the home. In addition to Amanda and Clive's nine children, local tradespeople will be enlisted to revamp the farmhouse, locally known as Anty John's."

"However, the project won't be easy as they'll have to contend with the changing seasons and elements while restoring a listed property in a remote location." Expressing her excitement about her TV return,, Amanda said: "It is fantastic More4 has given us the opportunity to showcase what we do best, working as a team and battling the elements whilst trying to reinstate the farm next door to its former glory."

"This new project has been a huge undertaking for the whole family and one we are excited to be able to share with the viewers at home."
