Paul Pogba in 'advanced' talks over Manchester United reunion after return from doping ban

Paul Pogba is reportedly in talks over a move to Marseille after his drugs ban was .

Pogba was hit with a after after clash with Udinese in August 2023. DHEA is a banned substance that boosts endogenous testosterone.

Pogba has always maintained he did not intentionally take DHEA and he successfully appealed the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which reduced his suspension to 18 months. As a result, Pogba will be able to return to playing football in March 2025.

"Finally the nightmare is over," Pogba said after the announcement. "Following the decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again."

The 31-year-old remains under contract with , but is in talks with the club over terminating his deal early. "We are talking to his entourage," Juventus CEO Maurizio Scanavino told .

"Pogba is a great player and he certainly can still play. However, between injuries and bans, he effectively hasn't really played for two years. These are all elements we need to evaluate and I can confirm we are talking to his staff."

And according to reports, Marseille are already in advanced talks with Pogba and he could join the Ligue 1 club in January. The potential move would see him reunite with his former teammate Mason Greenwood, who joined the club over the summer.

Pogba's friend and former Marseille player Patrice Evra has said he would like to see the midfielder join the club, saying he planned to give sporting director Medhi Benatia a call and encourage him to make the move happen.

"I think we won't see Paul again in Juve colours," Evra told the Rothen s’enflamme podcast. "We have to turn the page. I'm going to call Medhi Benatia so that he can call him because the doors are open."

Pogba started his career at Old Trafford before joining Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 for more first-team opportunities. After winning four Serie A titles, he was re-signed by United for a then record £89.3million fee, but things did not work out and he return to Juventus in 2022
