Penny Lancaster reveals secret to two-decade romance with Rod Stewart in rare admission

Send Push

Penny Lancaster has revealed the secret to her longstanding romance with Rod Stewart.

On today, the panel - which also included , and anchor - discussed romance and finding love, and if any of them were romantic. It was then that Penny confessed how she keeps things going with her husband Rod, who she married back in 2007 and they have been together for nearly two decades.

Speaking about how her romance with Rod has blossomed over the years and how they keep the love alive, she said: "It's just paying attention to detail. It's understanding somebody and their needs and what they like and showing up for them and what brought you together in the beginning. I know life gets really busy but it's those little tiny glimmers.

"Sometimes I look across the crowded room at him. He did write a song for me. We're still very much in love."

Her fellow panellist revealed that the pair are clearly in love as she recalled a time they sat together at an event.

"I sat at a table with you guys and you only have eyes for each other. They're like school kids, they're adorable!" she said, as the rest of the panel praised the couple's longstanding romance.

Earlier this year, the couple were hit with claims their marriage had reached a "stalemate" over their home in Beverly Hills.

Issuing a statement, Rod insisted: "There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I, and no disagreement on where we should reside, in fact it’s the opposite. We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit. Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realised that it makes sense to keep our house there. Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this... there’s no disharmony in our marriage."

Rod later described him as a "very lucky man" to be married to Penny and praised their connection.
