Attendees of the Conservative Party Conference were given a performance by Peter Andre

The Conservative Party's annual conference was held in Birmingham in recent days. Peter, 51, took to the stage for an event at the Mooncat bar in the Utilita Arena Birmingham on Tuesday night, which was the final day of the conference. The party, Ampled, is said to have been organised by TikTok and UK Music as a "celebration of music" as part of the conference.

Footage shared on social media shows him performing songs like Mysterious Girl during the set, which reportedly lasted 30 minutes. One clip, shared by Peter himself, shows the singer-songwriter dancing on a table whilst covering Stevie Wonder's Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours).

A correspondent for the Metro, who was in attendance, said that Peter sang it directly to former cabinet minister Thérèse Coffey, 52, whilst in the crowd. And according to the Standard, he "gyrated" with the former politician. It's alleged that Peter - whose career in recent years has included presenting for GB News alongside gigs - "darted" through an exit as soon as his song Mysterious Girl finished. He's however suggested that he enjoyed the experience.

Addressing a tweet by an organiser of the event, Peter wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday: "Loved it. Thank you." He later shared footage of himself performing and told fans: "Conservative by name; not by nature." The set has been described as "bizarre" and "embarrassing," with Peter criticised for his appearance by some viewers on social media for his collaboration with the Tory party. One person wrote: "Eww." Someone said: "How embarrassing."

A third person wrote: "Wow [Peter] has just dropped in my estimations." Someone else wrote: "Always knew he was a f***ing charlatan." One tweet read: "Beyond nauseating." A viewer said: "Somehow found a way to hate this c**t even more." "What a fall of grace for Peter," another wrote.

Others however appeared to have found the footage amusing, with one fan writing: "This is so cringe, I love it." There's also been support over the appearance, including from some attendees of the annual four-day conference. One person teased: "The question on everyone's lips, who has performed best at Conference… Undoubtedly, it has to be [Peter]!" Another wrote: "[Peter] is actually so sound." Another fan tweeted: "Seen [Peter] perform mysterious girl at Tory party conference. Life is complete."
