A new month of PS Plus Essential games is coming quickly, and it's perhaps the best month that fans have been treated to in years.
PlayStation isn’t messing around this month. The recent State of Play presentation proved that the company has plenty up its sleeves, with Ghost of Yotei and the return of Legacy of Kain truly blowing players away before they had the opportunity to say “The PS5 has no games.” There’s a lot set to hit the console, and a great deal of the great stuff to come is actually set for PS Plus too.
The presentation revealed some great details for subscribers to the service, especially those who have gone further and joined its Extra and Premium tiers, soaking up the many games available to download and play. The show was made particularly exciting by the September Extra and Premium announcement of the arrival of The Last of Us Part 1 coming to the service, as well as the appearance of Dino Crisis and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain coming to Premium, before the end of the year. That doesn’t mean that the plate was cleaned before Essential subscribers could get there, though.
After months of sports focus for PS Plus Essential, including the arrival of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions in last month's drop, the service has offered yet another sports game – but fans are far more excited about the games around it. WWE 2K24, Dead Space and Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! are all coming to the service, marking a whopper of a lineup for the service that players have been waiting for. The appearance of Dead Space especially is something that has thrilled subscribers, excited by the fact that the new-gen remake of the horror titan has made it into their laps for free.

We know this for sure as the PS Plus Essential games always go live on the service on the first Tuesday of any given month, and always at the same time, just like we saw with the Essential September 2024 release time last month. They’ll be available to add to your library from the PS Plus tab of your PlayStation homepage, and you’ll need to click through to add them yourself in order to download them for free.
This time is crucial to make note of if you haven’t yet claimed the currently standing games of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, MLB The Show 24 and Little Nightmares 2, because once it hits, they won’t be available to claim at all anymore. You have 24 hours to make it happen, so act quickly.
