Ruben Amorim reveals true feelings on Man Utd job ahead of his Old Trafford bow

Ruben Amorim says he feels "relaxed" after seeing Old Trafford for the first time since officially starting as 's new boss.

Asked how he felt about standing inside Old Trafford as United boss, Amorim said: "You watch on TV and you know that it's big and it's impressive, but when you are here, you can feel it.

"You can feel the history. I'm really, really proud to be a Manchester United coach. It's amazing, it's a real honour."

Amorim, speaking to MUTV, said: "I feel very relaxed, maybe because it's not game day. When we have a game I'm a different guy. But I really don't feel the weight.

"I'm really excited and I'm quite relaxed. I think I'm where I'm supposed to be. That's the feeling."

“And you see the way they say goodbye to him, the way they feel, they make him feel part of the team and how they treat him. So it shows that this is a great character and he's someone that gives his all to the players.

“He's also a really smart manager who has done really good things for Sporting tactically. It’s really good, what I've seen from the games for Sporting. But obviously as we always speak, you can't bring or transform what he has done at Sporting into here, because you have different players, you have different ways of play and everything.

“I'm pretty sure that the idea of football he has, independent of the way he wants to play, is going to be a good one and it's going to bring us success. That's what I hope and I'm pretty sure that is what he hopes, too.”
