Ruth Langsford makes Eamonn Holmes statement after refusing to take wedding ring off

Send Push

Ruth Langsford is wearing her wedding ring on her right hand for the first time since she split with husband, Eamonn Holmes.

The former stars, both 64, stunned the showbiz in May when it was announced they were heading for divorce. Eamonn has now moved on with new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 42. However, Ruth is continuing to wear her wedding band - but on her right hand instead of the traditional left - which she flashed in her latest photo.

Sharing a snap of herself at the hairdressers in which the bling can clearly be seen, she wrote: "Had my extensions put back in salon yesterday….although it was only one day without them I really missed having that extra thickness to my hair! Anyway….lots of you are always asking about them so I like to share the process. Thank you always for your expertise and the Lols!! And great catching up with himself for a great cut and a goss!"

Ruth, who has previously worn her wedding ring on her left hand after her split with Eamonn, unveiled her new hairstyle after her ex rocked up at the Irish Post Awards with his new girlfriend. While the couple didn't pose on the red carpet together, they were both seen at the event, which was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London last week.

A source exclusively told the : "While Eamonn waited for the ceremony to begin he enjoyed his dinner in the company of his new girlfriend Katie. The pair seemed relaxed and were inseparable." Katie cut an elegant appearance in a silky black dress with her hair tied into a stylish up do.

However, we were told that while they appeared at the event as a duo, Eamonn requested that photographers not take pictures of them together while at their dinner table.

While it has been reported that Eamonn and Katie met on social media, The Sun recently claimed that they had been in contact "12 years ago."

A source told The Sun: "We knew Eamonn and Katie got together via social media, but no one knew how far back they went. Ruth will be shocked they were in contact 12 years ago. I don't think she would have known." They added: "At the outset George joined in with the online banter. He would never have guessed Katie was going to get together with Eamonn years down the line."

This claim has remained as speculation as neither Eamonn or Katie have confirmed the duration of their contact. And there has never been a suggestion the pair had become romantic while still married.

Ruth, meanwhile, is said to be getting ready to fly to for ...Get Me Out Of Here! where she will be a guest on the series' ITV2 spin off show.
