Salford City boss in furious rant at ref 24 hours after Gary Neville made feelings clear

Salford City head coach brutally tore into referee Jacob Miles after he failed to award his side a penalty in their 2-1 loss against Grimsby Town.

The outfit, who are owned by , fell to a fourth league defeat of the campaign at home to the Mariners, who saw teenage forward Luca Harrington bag a first half brace.

Robinson was left furious after the final whistle, mainly due to Miles' performance. He was particularly aggrieved by the decision to snub a penalty appeal after Kelly N'Mai hit the deck - a call Robinson branded "an absolute disgrace."

“I would love to know how it could be that bad of a performance, it’s impossible,” the boss raged during his post-match interview.

“The penalty is an absolute disgrace. I can say our defending and finishing was a disgrace at times today as well, but that was only part of the story today.

“Some of the tackles as well, I’m surprised that some of my players aren’t in a worse place. I’d say the better team lost. At the end of the day they won, but I am absolutely fuming on external influences on the result.

“It sounds worse when you lose, but at the end of the day that was not an acceptable performance from the officials today.

“Our defending for the two goals was appalling, though, and I’ve gone absolutely crazy at the players. We were the better team today and I don’t think anybody could argue that with the chances we created.”

Robinson's post-match rant comes less than 24 hours after Salford part-owner shared a social media post confirming that had been for a strongly worded social media post which criticised a number of decisions made during a match last season.

Forest said in post on X: “Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options.”

Neville was highly critical of the club's actions at the time, saying: “It’s like a mafia gang statement, honestly… what the hell are they playing at?”
