Many of the mogul's 2.4 million followers responded to Simon's post in the comment section as they wished him a happy birthday. Former Britain's Got Talent contestant , who earned a Golden Buzzer during his stint on the programme for his cover of Dancing On My Own, notably wrote: "Happy birthday sir!!", alongside a red heart emoji.

Actress Chloë Crampton, who appeared in spin-off Hollyoaks: The Morning After the Night Before, joined in: "Happy Birthday Boss!" and followed suit with her own "Happy Birthday", which she also paired with a heart emoji. Blogger Perez Hilton even added: "Happy birthday, you icon!", just as multiple others sent Simon their well-wishes.

This comes after Simon, whose search for the next pop star , confirmed on Britain's Got Talent, replacing in the forthcoming 18th season of the popular competition. The upcoming season is filming at a different time to usual as is expected to fill the gaping shaped hole in their February-April schedule with the variety show instead.

As a result, audition rounds for the series are filming at an earlier time - and will clash with dates that Bruno, 68, is in the USA filming on Dancing With The Stars. Despite only filling in for a couple of days, KSI will be granted the right to bash the golden buzzer - which sends audition hopefuls straight through to the live finals.

A source told “Bosses were keen for KSI to appear much like a full-time judge would, given he’s due to stand in for a number of days. It means there will be one more Golden Buzzer act this year, with the remaining judges and hosts Ant and Dec also given an opportunity to press it. It will no doubt make the finals more exciting, to see which judge is best at picking a winner.” Meanwhile, applications for the 2025 series of the show have been open since May, 2024.
