A woman has taken to to share her ‘life-changing’ hack.
Mum-of-two, Kayline Olson, who shares lifestyle content and for mums on her TikTok channel, has revealed the one thing she’s been doing ‘for years’ to make bread last longer. In the video, she said: “Okay, this is gonna be the most random TikTok I’ve ever made but if you’re not storing your bread in the fridge, you’re doing it wrong.” The savvy mum added: “I’ve been doing this for years and every time someone comes over and sees I have bread in my fridge they look at me like I’m frickin’ crazy, but I swear it makes your bread last so much longer.
“I love Costco’s bagels and Costco’s muffins but if you’ve ever gotten them then you know that they will literally mould within two to three days. It sucks cause they’re so good. But I have had Costco bagels in my fridge for three weeks and they just now went bad, the leftover ones that I had. It’s insane.”
Kayline explains that the game-changing hack works for ‘buns, breads, muffins, bagels or anything like that’, with all of these bread-based items lasting ‘so much longer’ when stored in the fridge. She said: “I’ve had a load of sourdough bread in my fridge for over two months and it is still not moulded. Needless to say, start storing your bread in the fridge because it is life-changing.”
People were quick to comment on the video, with lots of TikTok users agreeing with this money-saving hack. One said: “I always store in the fridge!" While another added: “I’ve done this my entire life. Keep it in the fridge, it stays fresh, and you won’t get mould.” A third commented: “Agreed, storing it in the fridge is better, especially if you’re not going to finish eating it all before it goes bad.”
