On Saturday night, BBC viewers returned to the glitz and glam of the ballroom, however, this week the programme took fans to the renowned Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Last weekend, fans saw Wynne Evans and Shayne Ward in the dreaded dance-off, having to reperform to stay in the competition.
In the end, it was Shayne who was sent home after the final decision fell to head judge as the judges were left divided.
Although it was a turbulent weekend for some, and JB Gill wowed the judges with their routines. Each of them earned near-perfect scores of 37, putting them firmly at joint first on the leaderboard.
However, as the remaining stars took to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom for a new week of routines, scores and leaderboard changes, it was the opening number that stole the show
As the professionals took to the dancefloor in silver metallic attire, viewers were thrilled as the show kicked off with a musical number as opposed to going straight into the celebrity dances.
In another twist for the Blackpool special, The Pet Shop Boys were seen singing a medley of some of their greatest hits, in outfits to match the pros on the dancefloor.
People quickly flocked to to share their thoughts on the performance, with many blown away. One person said: "Pet Shop Bots were incredible."

The live studio audience erupted into a loud round of applause after they had finished their medley of songs.
Introducing the show, host Claudia Winkleman thanked The Pet Shop Boys and the show's choreographers for a fantastic opening.
This won't be the only time the singing legends will appear on Strictly as they'll be performing their new single All The Young Dudes on Sunday night's result show.
