Strictly Come Dancing's Craig takes savage swipe at Shirley leaving co-stars stunned

Send Push

's Craig Revel Horwood was shown mocking his co-judge Shirley Ballas on Saturday night, in a moment that left his co-stars stunned.

Craig had been booed by the crowd for his comments about Sam Quek and 's Samba in the latest live show, when he mimicked his co-star Shirley. While several stars were left in hysterics, some looking awkward, Sam and Nikita seemed taken aback by the quip.

Shirley had only minutes early reacted to the crowd herself, after they booed her too. Shirley wasted in time in calling this out, telling them to listen to what she had to say.

The moment left her co-star Anton Du Beke laughing awkwardly, as the boos saw Shirley turn to the crowd and say: "Hold on, you might learn something." She told Sam and Nikita: "What I found you need work on a little bit, progressing forward, in some positions it looks a little awkward getting from A to B.

"We're always looking for something really seamless but what I can commend you on is the fact you came out here, you're well in that competition with the personality and salesmanship which is just as important as the technical aspect."

Craig then took his turn to advise the dancers, and he was not keen on the performance. He told them: "I felt it lacked a little bit of bounce, I have got to say. The footwork I thought was slightly messy at times and misplaced."

As the boos got louder and louder, Craig pointed his finger in the air and turned to the audience. Mocking Shirley's earlier actions and putting on a voice, he repeated: "Hold on, you might learn something."

With that the crowd began shouting out, mostly laughing as some gasped over his jibe. Sam and Nikita didn't know how to react, with Nikita looking shocked and appearing to gasp as Sam raised her hand in the air.

Shirley herself laughed hysterically as did judge Motsi Mabuse, before Anton appeared to laugh too while seeming a bit awkward. Shirley was then heard saying something along the lines of: "It's okay," telling him to carry on with his Samba critique.

Viewers watching at home were quick to react to the moment, with one viewer writing: "Oooh Craig, Shirley’s going to have you for that sass!" Another said: "Craig mocking his fellow judges wasn’t on my bingo card this year omg."

A third fan wrote: "Craig pretending to be Shirley IM DEAD!" as another said: "Aw go Craig, having a dig at Shirley." A fifth viewer posted: "CRAIG MOCKING SHIRLEY HAHAH CRYING."
