Strictly's Chris McCausland unrecognisable in forgotten soap stint - and fans are floored

fans have been left gobsmacked after spotting in a huge soap.

The comedian, 47, is one of many famous faces taking part in this year’s series of the glitzy One Show, alongside the likes of , and Shayne Ward.

Partnered with Dianne Buswell, the pair have gone down a treat. Week after week Chris - who is blind - and Dianne have impressed the judges, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood, and those watching at home.

Prior to his Strictly stint, Chris appeared in shows Would I Lie To You, Have I Got News For You and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He also played Rudi in the Cbeebies show Me Too!

However, it turns out Chris appeared in BBC’s years back - and fans are only just realising. Chris played Karl in one episode of the long-running soap in 2018.

And Chris’ secret cameo has since been unearthed amid his Strictly stint. On X, one person shared a photo of Chris on EastEnders, as someone else proclaimed: “Didn’t know he was in ee omg.”

Someone else added: “How have I never noticed this until now?” A third proclaimed: “I was so surprised like how did no one notice this.”

During his scene on EastEnders, Chris’ character Karl interacts with Bernadette Taylor (Clair Norris) in Kathy’s cafe, and plays chess with her. He goes on to make recurring jokes about his disability and puts sauce on his nose to distract her from winning - but she beats him in their second game.

During the latest Strictly episode on Saturday (October 12) Chris and Dianne performed a salsa to Down Under by Men at Work. And their routine left head judge Shirley speechless.

“I can’t even imagine how you managed to do that so flawlessly when you can’t see,” she told him. Shirley went on: “On top of that, you kept to your music, you didn’t miss a beat. I’m telling you from my heart, that is absolutely impressive.”
