Fleur East interrupted Strictly's It Takes Two on Friday to make a special announcement about Janette Manrara.

Fleur was in Blackpool where she spoke with the contestants ahead of their special performances tomorrow night, while Janette was holding the fort in the studio.

However, as Fleur cut back to Janette in the studio, she halted the show to send her a special message - Happy birthday!

"Aw Pete and Chris it could be you," Janette said after Fleur had finished speaking to , Chris McCausland and JB Gill.

"Right, when it comes to Blackpool, the group dances are always epic and this year is no exception," Janette began to say before Fleur popped up on the screen to interrupt the programme.

"Wait, hello, Janette it is me again," Fleur said before adding: "Sorry to interrupt you but you didn't think we'd forget something realy important, did you?"

She continued: "Tomorrow is a big day for our couples but it also your birthday, so firstly, a very happy birthday from me to you and a few other wanted to send their well wishes, too."

The show then proceeded to air a video clip of the Strictly stars wishing Janette a Happy birthday. Janette's husband, Aljaz also sent his wife a special message.

"Happy birthday, we hope you have a good day celebrating and we hope your loved ones are spoiling you rotten."

Wynne Evans even sang to the It Takes Two host at the end of the video. As it cut back to the studio, Janette was greeted with a birthday cake.

"Wow, thank you," Janette said in shock. "Look at the cake, we have got to look at the cake."

"Thank you, very much," she added before turning her attention back to the show.

Elsewhere, Janette announced the next celebrity lined up for the 2024 special. The host welcomed Vogue Williams on to the sofa, and confirmed she was partnered with Carlos Gu.

Speaking about her stint, Vogue said: "I’m so excited to join the Strictly family! Carlos would have more of a chance of winning a Nobel prize than turning me into a good dancer but I am determined to try my very best! I’m loving it so far, bring on the Ballroom floor."

Strictly's It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
