pro and her celeb partner have addressed fans after an awkward exchange from last night's episode was recorded and shared widely on social media.

It showed Wynne appearing to attempt to put his hand on Katya's waist, with her brushing it off, looking uncomfortable, before he tries it again.

Addressing concerned fans in a video, Katya began: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here. We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry. It was a silly joke." Wynne added: "Yes sorry."

In the caption, Wynne added: "Apologies for this tonight we were just messing around. We really are amazing friends. The high 5's is a running joke. Have a great evening @katyajones."

But fans were less interested in the high fives and commented about opera singer Wynne's wandering hand on Katya's waist.

One viewer wrote: "Sorry guys how is that a joke? Ok the refusal to do the high five and the eye roll, yep get that, but the hand slowly moving across Katya’s stomach, and her moving it away and looking seriously uncomfortable?? How is that a 'joke'?" Someone else questioned: "And the hand sliding across the waist? Was that a joke too?" Another added: "Please leave … you’re making your partner uncomfortable, not cool!!" A fourth commented: "Well mate your body language and eye flicker tell another story. Used to being handsy with women clearly." Someone else added: "Yuck, watching his misappropriate touching your waist and stomach when it wasn't wanted is giving me creep vibes. And I am very rarely wrong. Just yuck."

However, others thought the reaction from the clip was over-the-top, reassuring the couple that they shouldn't worry. One fan gushed: "Didn't see it but you two have a great relationship. Love your dance tonight!!" Another wrote: "You haven't done anything wrong, neither has Katya. This is just normal human interaction amongst two people , with jobless people reading and interpreting salacious nonsense into hand gestures. Keep dancing and have fun." A third said: "Honestly devastated that you both feel you have to apologise. Neither of you have done anything wrong at all. My absolute favourites from week one and your dance tonight was fantastic."

The has contacted Wynne and Katya's reps for comment.

Viewers spotted the awkward moment straight away, taking to social media to share what they had seen, with a clip of the incident being shared, as well as 'overmarking' comments on their score. The couple were given a score of 34 for their Tango to Abba's Money Money Money, with Anton Du Beck and Craig Revel Horwood both giving them an 8, while and Motsi Mabuse gave them nines.

Anton said the dance was 'tremendous' , while Craig said he "loved it", adding: "Winner, winner, winner."
