Supermodel terrified fans as she revealed her intense beauty procedure that “looks like something out of a horror movie”.

Since then, Ashley has gained a huge following, and has walked the runway for designers such as Dolce & Gabbana. regularly shares her beauty routine on social media, but it was her most recent treatment that left her followers reeling.

Ashley posted two snaps showing the intensive cupping technique on her face, as well as several needles positioned on her cheeks and chin during an electro-acupuncture session. “My kind of filler,” she captioned the pictures, but her fans inundated the comments with concern for the model. “This looks like something from a horror movie,” one quipped, as another added: “What in the clockwork orange is happening here?!”

“This looks scary! But better than fake substances for sure,” one commented, as a fourth fan chimed in: “Looks like utter torture.” Electro-acupuncture is a similar process to traditional acupuncture, but the needles are attached to a small electrode which pulses a tiny jolt of electricity to the skin. Electro-acupuncture reduces inflammation and increases blood flow, and has also been shown to reduce long-term chronic stress.

Facial cupping is a similar practice to body cupping, which uses suction cups to stimulate your skin and muscles. Doing the treatment on the face has been shown to increase blood circulation, promote cell repair, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improve circulation.

Earlier this year, the supermodel released a kids book called A Kids Book About Beauty, which is aimed at 5 to 9 year olds and focuses on body positivity and empowerment. Ashley said she was inspired to pen the book after becoming mum to three children - Isaac, 4, and twins Malachi and Roman, 2 - as she wanted to tackle the relationship she had with herself, and vowed to change how she spoke about herself in front of her kids. “They're so young but they're never not listening; they're taking in everything,” she told Parents magazine.

She confessed she has become kinder to herself as she has gotten older, and wants to make sure her three boys grow up knowing their mother loved her body. “I feel like I'm a lot kinder to myself and I have more grace for myself. My body has just changed so much, from the inside to the outside. I think a parent's duty is to really instil these ideals in their kids through themselves. If you don't like yourself, your kid is going to pick up on that,” Ashley shared.
