Teen maimed two women with shotgun blast during Clapham scooter chase

A teen who maimed two women after a shotgun went off during a scooter chase is facing prison time.

Officers were pursuing a black scooter ridden by two 18-year-olds who failed to stop in Clapham, southwest London, on March 1. Brolynn Dangi was driving while Keymarni King was riding pillion when he dropped the gun outside The Belle Vue pub in Clapham Common, injuring Grace Forno and Caitlin Heaphy.

A 27-year-old man was also hurt when he was hit by the Piaggio Vespa, Inner London Crown Court heard. King admitted wounding the two women, aged 27 and 36, after the gun went off during the chase while Dangi admitted injuring Boris Baptist with the scooter.

They also both admitted possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life which carries the maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. King also admitted to breaching a criminal behaviour order, as he had previously been ordered not to associate with Dangi.

Prosecutor Andrew Pellington earlier said: "On 1 March at 5:55pm uniformed officers were travelling along Clapham High Street when their attention was drawn to a black Piaggio scooter containing two people on it driving erratically. The moped was travelling towards officers and on spotting them made a U-turn."

The moped ploughed into a member of the public before crashing on Clapham High Street at the junction of Clapham Park Road. King and Dangi then made off on foot, the court heard. "The suspect dropped a shotgun on the pavement opposite The Belle Vue pub. As the shotgun hit the ground it broke in two and fired one round causing injuries to two members of the public crossing the road at the time.

"The suspect continued riding along Clapham Park Road and began jumping over fences of properties." Judge Usha Karu warned the pair face custodial sentences of some length.

"The next date that you are required to attend is the 29th of November where you will be sentenced, I have granted the application for pre-sentence reports so that we are able to learn more about each of you. You will remain in custody, that is all."

King, of Cromer Road, Tooting, admitted possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and cause fear of violence two counts of unlawful wounding and breaching the criminal behaviour order, Dangi, of Unwin Road, Hounslow, admitted possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and cause fear of violence and aggravated vehicle taking,

They were remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on November 29.
