The Chase's Mark Labbett screams 'oh you idiot' as he admits 'I don't deserve it'

The Chase star Mark 'The Beast' Labbett was left hot under the collar during the latest episode as he allowed a team to walk away with an eye-watering £80,000.

Things took an unexpected turn during Tuesday's episode of the popular ITV show when a team of three managed to beat the brainbox Mark. Following a fairly steady start and good performances from Tony and Linda, it was player number three Roger who managed to secure £71,000.

After a disappointing effort from player number four Rebecca who was caught by the Chaser, host Bradley Walsh wasn't too hopeful, as he deemed a team of four would give them a better chance of winning the huge cash prize. But during the final chase, the pressure was on for Mark as he made a few crucial mistakes.

At one point, the star yelled out in disbelief, "Oh, you idiot!" when he realised his mishap. At the end of The Chase, Mark only had one second left to answer the remaining two questions out of a possible eighteen- something that was impossible to do.

He then admitted in a huff: "I don't deserve to win". Meanwhile, the team could be seen celebrating their triumph.

Fans at home were also left gobsmacked and joined in on the celebrations too. Others also pointed out how well Roger played throughout the game.

One impressed viewer headed over to X and wrote: "I love it when the team wins especially when they win big. Great episode today, that final Chase was really close! Well deserved, team."

Another said: "Well done Roger, won the most money and answered the most questions." A third penned: "Well done! Nail-biting stuff, good telly."

While some fans couldn't help but mention Rebecca who missed out on the humongous team win. One fan said: "Well played, great team & well done Roger. Hope they give Rebecca a couple of grand. Bless her, she was so disappointed."

Another said: "I stand corrected. A mediocre effort from the Chaser helped them but f**k me, I am surprised. Thought they'd need at least 20. Rebecca is watching now like [crying emoji].

A third viewer also wrote: "Great win. Rebecca must be gutted."

As Rebecca took the -£10,000 offer during her round, one fan pointed out: "Well done team on winning #TheChase. Enjoy the money. Especially, the extra £9,166 you each earned from Rebecca not getting through."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1.
