The One Show's Alex Jones was caught in a slightly embarrassing mishap on Tuesday when she got the name of a beloved telly favourite wrong during the show opener.
Kicking off the show, the Welsh star cheerfully started with: "Hello there and welcome to your Tuesday One Show with Alex Scott..." Before her co-star to added: "And Alex Jones. Well we've got a busy show tonight full of exciting exclusives and, of course, lots of heart."
Alex Jones then chimed back in, saying: "That is right. Amanda Hart..." before realising her slip-up and quickly correcting: "Amanda Hart? Miranda Hart joins us! She will be revealing why we haven't seen her on our screens for a while and she'll be sharing some very good news."
Miranda stepped onto the set later, earning a careful introduction from Alex who didn't repeat her earlier mistake: "Now time to welcome our first guest, a much-loved writer, comedian and actor and we haven't seen her on our screens for a while so I'm very pleased to say that Miranda Hart joins us now. Or Amanda Hart... what's wrong with me? ".
The comedy genius delightedly played along by jesting: "Amanda... Alan, it's lovely to see you again! " With Alex responding: "It's been so long we've missed you so much," Miranda quipped back: "So long you've forgotten my name! " but eased the tension with a light-hearted: "I'll forgive you," reports .
During her appearance, Miranda shared some personal news, uplifting fans with the message that "there is always hope" as she unveiled that she had tied the knot following what she described as a 'tough year'.
The celebrity, who was on the show to promote her new book titled I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, shared that fans can delve into her personal life as she discussed her secret new husband and health struggles.
She disclosed that 'someone's put a ring on it' and confirmed that she found 'my person' at the age of 49.
