This Morning's Ben Shephard makes family admission and wife 'is so excited'

This Morning star Ben Shephard made a rare family admission on the show as he admitted his wife "can't wait" to be grandmother.

The 49-year-old was back on the popular daytime programme for Thursday's edition alongside his co-host . Discussing family dynamics, the pair spoke to a caller on the line about grandparents' contribution.

This led Ben to make a sweet confession regarding his wife Annie. He said: "I hate to say this but Annie can't wait to be a grandma already. The boys are 19 and 17 and she's like you know, they love it!"

Ben and Annie share two sons, Sam, 18, and Jack, 17. Back in July, the Tipping Point presenter told followers how his eldest has been away travelling since the start of the year and how he'd spent some time away from work to visit Sam on his travels.

But in the summer, Sam had returned to see his parents. Ben captured the moment he met Sam at the airport and shared the footage with his followers online.

Under his post, he wrote: "What a weekend. In a bit of a daze but got a big old smile on my face. It started with our 'Biggun' Sam coming home from 7 months traveling. Can’t tell you how lovely it is having him back - and @annieshepharddesign is v v content!"

Ina addition to this, the former presenter, then went on to share how his joyful weekend continued as he celebrated his godson's birthday. Ben shared: "Then is was my eldest god son's birthday. What a celebration with all his family and friends. Amazing dinner and then drinks + v bad dad dancing @100wardourst which was just brilliant. All while the sun shone too!!! #family #birthday."

After seeing the sweet moment, presenter Kate Thornton commented under Ben's post. She wrote: "Does Annie feel like she can breathe again now he’s home!? I so felt for her. Glad he made it back in one piece with hopefully many memories and adventures under his belt."

Fans also chimed in, with one saying: "Just wonderful. I felt that mummy hug." While another added: "Aww , this is lovely to see. Seems like only a short time ago we were that age off on adventures and then home to parents, then off, then home! Hope the summer is fun with the family."
