A study of 2,000 adults has found that most Brits are now favouring cosy nights in over going out, with 66% feeling comfier at home.
Half of those polled appreciated the chance to unwind without having to go out, and claimed staying at home was more 'peaceful' then going out for the evening.
The study highlighted that over half the respondents (52%) would opt for a night in, with two-thirds (65%) even cancelling their plans to savour some solitude.
A quarter said they'd prefer to be alone while others said their ideal night in would be with family, and 9% were happiest simply spending time with their pets.
This insight was uncovered in research carried out by Timotei as part of the 'A Gentle Start: The Showercast' podcast series, intended to be enjoyed during a short 10-minute shower.
Cleo Hector, representing Timotei, commented: "As we move from summer into the chillier months, it seems many Brits are keen to slow down and be gentler to themselves. Most are looking to boost their wellness routines this winter."

According to the poll, the 'perfect night in' kicks off with getting back at 5:30 pm, involves loads of snacks, and changing into comfier clothing - candles and atmospheric music were also a must.
Participants were likely to spend the evening soaking in the bath, while others were keen to finish off video games and the majority were happy with doing nothing.
Adding her voice, Cleo Hector from Timotei reveals: "With our new podcast you can unwind and learn about gentle living from inspirational women like Laura Whitmore and Martine McCutcheon."
