The devoted mum-of-four has recruited a "village" of family to look after her children while she is in the jungle, having covered the boards on "both sides". Mapping out the rest of the year for her four sons, Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six, the 38-year-old has detailed every party, pick up, drop off and event for the next four weeks. She also addressed and how it will affect her time on the show.
With ex-footballer Wayne, 39, managing Championship side Plymouth Argyle, he works more than 300 miles away from the family's Cheshire home, meaning she's drafter in family to help. She opened up about her biggest anxiety in the lead up to the start of the show, which starts on Sunday 17 November at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
Speaking on the video, she revealed: "I am really anxious about leaving the kids. That’s my biggest thing, and for weeks and months that’s been on my mind. But I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve planned, I’ve prepped, I’ve got an army of people — family, friends, school friends — all helping out with the kids.
"They are going to be fine, they’ll probably have a great time. I have prepped, as you can see behind me. That is, like, literally front and back, four weeks of timetables, football runs, parties, just everything. Before, I just wrote them all a little card each to open when they come home from school tomorrow, and a little teddy to keep so that they know I am constantly thinking of them.”
Coleen admitted she rarely uses Instagram for video updates, but told followers she wanted to explain how she's prepared and clarify any rumours. She told fans: "But I just wanted to come on and say something, I am in my pyjamas - the kids are in bed and their bags and uniforms are ready, I am taking them to school tomorrow and then I am heading to the airport. A lot of you might have heard and there has been a lot of speculation, but I can confirm I am going into the jungle."
Although she's been asked for "years" to do the challenge-based reality show, she has declined because of her kids, but said this year, she 'quite fancies it'. Coleen added: "I want to experience something different, do something for myself and meet new people. I'm really looking forward to doing the trials and there's been a lot of news saying I am exempt because of various illnesses.
"But I can confirm I can do every trial, so I am not excluded from any, and I am looking forward to it. While I'm away, friends are taking over my social media so hopefully they keep you updated. I am looking forward to it, it's going to be a massive change, sleeping outside and not having items with me."
