has paid tribute to Hollywood legend, , on his 80th birthday with an incredibly moving message.

The Batman Returns actor is one of Tinseltown's most popular stars and received a whole host of well wishes from his famous friends on his special day. Taking to X, Rob, 47, who stars alongside Danny in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, said the octogenarian 'always made him feel loved'.

Wishing Danny many happy returns of the day, he wrote: "He could still give you the best advice you’ve ever gotten and make you feel loved no matter what. This man was born 80 years ago today. He could still drink you under the table.

On , Kaitlin Olson, who plays Dee Reynolds in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, said: “Happy birthday to my favourite (rum) ham. Danny DeVito is everything you want him to be. Lights up every room, makes sure everyone is taken care of, gives his whole heart to everything and everyone he loves. Here’s to 80 more. I wouldn’t put it past him.”

Lucy DeVito stars in a new family comedy drama with her dad, called A Sudden Case of . Showing in cinemas in the States as well as being streamed digitally, the flick stars Lucy and Wilmer Valderama as Abbie and Jacob Randall, a couple whose marriage is about to end.

Knowing the news of their pending divorce will crush their 10-year-old daughter, Claire (Antonella Rose), the Randalls try to soften the sad news with a trip to visit Abbie’s father, Lawrence (Danny) at the swish resort he owns located in the Dolemite Mountain range in Italy.

In an interview with, Lucy and Danny said that the decision to co-star in A Sudden Case of Christmas was an easy one since it gave the father-daughter team an opportunity to work together again.

Lucy has previously appeared on screen with her father in the 2016 film The Comedian, as well as three episodes of his hit comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
