That's right - we're still at Tory Conference. Somehow, this shell of a party has found enough things to talk about for another day.

And it's been as eventful as ever...with Robert Jenrick admitting he named his child after Margaret Thatcher and questions being raised about James Cleverly's military service.

As always, there's fun to be had in the dark corners, late-night parties and gin-soaked bars of Conservative Party conference.

ROBERT Jenrick allegedly shaves his hands, a well-connected Conference insider tells us.

Yes, you read that right. His hands.

He even has a special razor, which he allegedly uses to shave his hands. So now you know.

OUSTED West Midlands Mayor arrived at Tory conference in Birmingham this morning with a face like thunder.

At last year’s conference, he was on the verge of quitting after Rishi Sunak scrapped the Birmingham leg of HS2.

He was heard complaining to a friend: “This (Birmingham) was supposed to be the bedrock we rebuild from.

“But he’s a disgraceful man. He didn’t support it, he didn’t care for it.”

We can’t imagine who he was talking about.

Not a numbers man

EVERY day, Robert Jenrick’s team brings round a faux newspaper called the Jenrick Post.

It’s mostly full of guff about leaving the European Convention on Human Rights, and shrinking the state.

But on the back page is a Sudoku. Which would be great to pass the time, if it weren’t for today’s edition featuring two sixes on the same row, rendering it unsolvable.

We will remember this whenever Mr Jenrick claims to be good with numbers.

Who could he be talking about?

DURING a fringe event on the importance of family, newly-elected Tory MP Patrick Spencer - formerly a civil servant - said: "I arrived in the Department for Education in 2020.

"We had a Prime Minister at the time who had a fairly flexible attitude towards his marriage, and his children and various other things."
