Woman transforms tatty council house into ultimate 'dream home' by making simple tweaks

Council houses are often stereotyped in all sorts of ways, but one woman has revealed how plush they can be.

A family, known as fajolu_family_home on have gone for sharing their home transformation online. When they were first handed the keys to their property, there was no carpet, flooring and hardly any paint on the walls.

In fact, you could claim it was a totally empty shell. Now you wouldn't believe you were looking at the same property, as they've worked to transform it into their "dream home".

From the pristine white and grey entrance to the sleek grey interior and plush bedrooms - the house looks fit for a king and queen. The home looks absolutely amazing - in fact, it could pass for a show home.

The family have worked hard to make the house look modern and chic by including black decor, hanging mirrors and they've even given the garden a bit of a makeover too. Outside, you'll see they've tidied up the patio and also scattered some chippings in certain areas.

There's also a garden sofa and table and chairs outside to enable them to relax in the sunshine. The property has truly gone from rags to riches with these small but impactful tweaks.

Since the video was shared, it's been liked more than 3,000 times, and people were quick to comment too. Some just can't believe how amazing it looks.

One person said: "Looks beautiful - very classy." Another wrote: "You guys have done an awesome job. You should be very proud."

A third replied: "Stunning. Hope you make happy memories living there." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Lovely job. You have turned your house into a lovely home."

Others were also quick to point out the importance of council houses. One social media user said there's "nothing wrong with them", though the family left people impressed with how they managed to makeover the property.

Speaking about council houses, another woman chimed in with: "Most of Britain were brought up in them. And they were best days of my life."
