But in the blink of an eye, your pot's bubbling over, spilling water across your stovetop and adding another hassle before dinner's even served. Yet, a shockingly simple trick to stop this culinary chaos has surfaced online, leaving many gobsmacked.

Foodie Sarah Aulbrook has dished out the tip that requires nothing more than common kitchen items you probably have lying around. In her viral clip, she unveils what she calls a 'revelation': "So random tip I was told and has saved me so many messes.

"Just take olive oil and put it on this brush and just brush it around the top of your pot when boiling pasta, or anything similar, and watch as water doesn't dare spill over the olive oil line. You're welcome."

The hack has sent food enthusiasts into a frenzy, with some eager to test it out for themselves. One viewer exclaimed: "Genius I'm gonna try it today", while another shared their success: "This trick is amazing".
