Currently retailing on Amazon for £18, comes in a wide range of shades for you to pick from. In my last Wonderskin review, I used my go-to shade Lovely, but this time I opted for a more holiday-ready shade, . With that being said, I lean more towards cool-toned and darker hues, so if you're on the warmer side there are plenty of brighter, cherry reds to pick from.

Now, as is the case with most lipsticks, but especially lip tints and stains, you should probably exfoliate or at least a lip mask before application. With the cold weather, I tend to have drier lips and with a strong pigment like this one, I found the darker colour stuck to the cracked skin - which isn't ideal - so give your mouth some TLC before you begin staining, I did a scrub and mask

comes equipped with a doe foot applicator, and the colour of the liquid is quite daunting at first, but trust me - don't be put off. When you first open the tube, it comes out as a blue/purple metallic colour, and I won't lie, the first time I tried I was marginally concerned about what the outcome would be if the blue didn't come off. But I took the plunge then and, after becoming more familiar with , I've found the application is a breeze.

I am someone with naturally pale lips, so I was intrigued to see what sort of a difference would make. The applicator is slightly bigger than that of most of my liquid lipsticks, so when I first attempted to apply this stain, it took a lot of concentration to navigate it around my lips without getting the stain all over my face. As I said, I've had plenty of practice since then, but due to the applicator's size, it does still require a deft hand along precarious places like the lipline or corners.

If you do get the stain anywhere you don't want it, it comes off easily if you act quickly - I used a makeup wipe for any of my hiccups. But, as is the way of most red lipsticks, with you're going to want to be as precise and careful as possible, if you don't want red streaks all over your face.

It's recommended you leave the stain on for at least 30 seconds, but I've found it's quite flexible. For the first round of , I chose to leave it on for a whole minute, but I was seeking a dark colour - if you just want a light flush of red to tie your Christmas attire together, you can remove it after 20-30 seconds. Plus, if the hue doesn't come out as dark as you'd like, you can easily do another round to build the pigment. I wanted to see how dark I could get this red lippy, so I did a second coat and left it on for around another 60 seconds.

In the adverts I have seen, you can attempt to peel off the blue cast once the mask has dried down, but I found this a bit difficult - if you talk or move your mouth once it dries, it does crack, so it doesn't always come off as one piece. But it's very easy to remove with a make-up wipe or wet flannel, it just requires a careful hand if you're wearing foundation.

With , unlike the Lovely shade, I noticed my fingers were also stained a bit red from when I was removing the blue, so if you're choosing a red colour, you may have to have a tad more caution than with one of the nude shades.

I chose not to use a lip liner on top of once I had removed all of the blue, but there's no reason why you couldn't. One happy Amazon left a review that says: "Was sceptical about this but it is so good. I add a bit of lip liner and to finish but this lasts all day with meals. Smudge-proof, gorgeous colour and does not dry out lips."

I chose to top mine with a clear lip balm and marvelled at the results. After finishing the look, I went out for food and drinks with my family, and by the time I got home hours later, my lips looked exactly as they had before I left. Red lipsticks tend to transfer easily, resulting in missing patches, red teeth and smudged edges - but not.

I can't believe how long lasted; it survived for hours without so much as fading, I even woke up with it still vibrant and in place the following morning. Not to mention, I got plenty of compliments from loved ones and strangers alike, commenting on how stunning was and how impressive its longevity was. I can easily see why fans have proclaimed "I still can't get over how much I love this product", with one 5-star reviewer exclaiming "love this product so much that I bought other colours right away."

Due to its popularity, stock is not always available in every colour depending on where you buy it from, and at the time of writing some shades are no longer available on Amazon. So if you want to get your hands on one of your preferred hues, I'd run before they sell out. If you do miss out on bagging my new go-to colour, , alternative shades like are sure to do the trick, offering a similar bold Christmas-ready red, and you can easily layer them for a darker pigment if that's your desire.

has changed my make-up routine for the coming holiday period - and I know I'll be reaching for this red shade all through the Christmas season and beyond. I don't think I'll be wearing my old red lippies anytime soon when I've got in my beauty bag.

is up for grabs on the and for £18. And you can read my review of the Wonderskin lip stain in the neutral Lovely shade, .
