The assembly election campaign in Maharashtra has now reached its last phase. Voting will be held on 20 November for 288 seats in the state. In such a situation, the campaign will stop 48 hours before i.e. on the evening of 18 November. Banks and schools will also remain closed on the day of voting. Also, there will be no trading in the stock market on that day. Let us tell you that the results of the assembly elections will be declared on November 23 and the assembly will be dissolved on November 26.
NSE issued notification
NSE had said in its notification dated November 8 that the exchange notifies Wednesday, November 20, 2024, as a trading holiday due to assembly elections in Maharashtra. Let us tell you that there will be no trading in equity, equity derivatives, and SLB segments on BSE and NSE. Not only this, trading will also be closed in the currency derivatives segment. Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and National Commodity Exchange (NCDEX) will not trade on this date between 9 am to 5 pm.

This month, a total of 3 holidays were seen in the market. On November 1, the market was closed due to Muhurat trading. It was just open for a short while in the evening. After that, on November 15, the market was closed on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Now again the market will be closed on November 20. That is, there will be no trading in the market for a total of three additional days.
Banks will have so many holidays.
Let us tell you that all banks are closed in Karnataka on November 18 on Kanakadas Jayanti. On the other hand, on November 23, banks will be closed in Meghalaya on the occasion of Seng Kutsnem. Also, November 23 is the fourth Saturday. On November 24, banks will be closed on Sunday in all Indian states and union territories (UT). If you have to do important transactions in these three days, then you can do your work through the bank's website and mobile banking app. At the same time, you can also go to the ATM to withdraw cash. But you will not be able to do any official work by going to the bank.
