As we all know, the Indian central government runs various types of schemes for the economically weaker people of its country, which aim to help and uplift these people. But a matter of concern has come to the fore that many people are cheating the general public in the name of PM Modi. They are cheating by talking about new schemes. When you encounter such claims, it is important to be cautious, especially if they appear on social media.

Recently a circular was circulating on social media that the government is providing free treatment to the elderly. In this context, PIB Fact Check has confirmed that this message is false - no such initiative has been announced by the government, nor has any minister made any statement in this regard, let us know how you can be cautious-

Spreading of misinformation: Beware of posts that misuse the logos of reputed news channels, which can lead to potential fraud.

Scam risk: Some scammers use photos of prominent personalities like the Prime Minister or other ministers to give credibility to their false claims.

Verify before sharing: Always read news from verified and reliable sources. By doing so, you not only protect yourself from fraud but also help prevent the spread of misinformation.

What to do if you get a fake message:

If you get a forwarded message or video related to the Government of India that looks suspicious, you can take immediate action. You can also send an email to Factcheck@pib.gov.in.
