WordPress recently released the sixth edition of its annual research "Top 200 Most Common Passwords" which lists the most used passwords in 44 countries. According to the report, the most used password in the world and India is "123456".

The research found that out of 30,18,050 users using this password worldwide, 76,981 are Indians. Apart from this, the second most used password in the world is "123456789", which is in fourth place in India. Almost half of the world's most common passwords are made up of easy keyboards such as "qwerty", "1q2w3e4er5t" and "123456789".

An internet user has an average of 168 passwords for personal accounts and 87 passwords for work-related accounts. It is difficult to manage so many passwords, so people use simple catchphrases that are easy to remember, but they can also be easily hacked. It takes less than a second to hack them.
