Send Push

Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar have starred together in a number of films including the latest Singham Again where the former played the titular character while the latter appeared in a crowd pleasing cameo.

Besides Singham Again, the two have starred together in films like Suhaag (1994), Khakee (2004), Insan (2005) and Sooryvanshi (2021).

Now, at a recent summit, the two actors announced their next collaboration but this time there is a big catch.

Unlike the previous films where they both shared screenspace, the new film will have Ajay Devgn behind the camera and Akshay Kumar in front of it.

At HT Leadership Summit 2024, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar were asked about their next film together and Ajay replied, “This is something we were going to announce later but I think this is a great platform. We are already working on something together where I am directing the film and Akshay Kumar is in the film.”

The two were then asked if the film will be in action or comedy space, Akshay quipped that they should send the script to the interviewer and Ajay replied, “It's a little too early, we will talk about it.”

Check out the clip below:

While it’s quite interesting to see the two stars collaborating as a director and actor, not all fans are happy about this development.

Akshay Kumar fans are unhappy with this collaboration because none of Ajay Devgn’s previous films have tasted box office success despite receiving mixed to positive reviews. .

The four films that Ajay Devgn has directed so far are U Me Aur Hum (2008), Shivaay (2016), Runway 34 (2022), Bholaa (2023).

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn fans are unhappy because out of the last 10 releases, Akshay Kumar has delivered nine flops and disasters (Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, Selfiee, Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein) and only one success that too in a supporting role (OMG 2).

Take a look at some of the responses below:

Considering how well Ajay Devgn shot action sequences in his directorials especially Shivaay, it will be great to see him direct Akshay Kumar in an out and out mass action entertainer.
