Despite Virat Kohli's Poor Form, THIS Aussie Legend Fires Massive Warning To Australia

Send Push

Australia has been a happy hunting ground for India’s star batter Virat Kohli. After India, Kohli has the best Test batting average Down Under, amassing 1,352 runs in 25 innings at an average of 54.08. Not just runs, the 36-year-old’s maximum Test hundreds away from home soil has come in the land of the Kangaroos.

The above stats suggest that Kohli will have a gala time batting on the pacy and bouncy pitches of Australia, however, his form has been dwindling off late, creating a doubt in everyone’s mind.

Indeed, Kohli is not at the peak of his powers like the period between 2016 and 19, which saw him amass 4,208 runs in 69 innings at a mind-boggling average of 66.79. A total of 16 centuries and 10 half-centuries came off his bat during this period, which is considered his purple patch.

Kohli and Australia are a match made in heaven, and many experts have predicted that India’s superstar batter will come good in the series despite the lack of runs coming into it.

Former Australia opener David Warner said he was genuinely worried about the hosts as Kohli would come out and give his absolute best in the upcoming Test series.

“This is the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and we know Virat always steps up in Australia and completely embraces that challenge like almost no one else who has ever visited our shores,” Warner wrote in his column for Herald Sun.
