The big clash of Singham Again with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has turned out to be record breaking as far as the Diwali box office is concerned but has definitely hit the biz of the two films individually.

Before the releases of Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the maximum business witnessed by films releasing on Diwali was just Rs 285.52 crore by the Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi starrer Tiger 3 in 2023.

The Maneesh Sharma film was considered an underperformer at the box office when the expectations and the potential was of at least hitting Rs 500 crore in India.

Now, the two major releases this Diwali — Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 have achieved the feat with a combined biz of Rs 500 crore.

In 17 days, Singham Again made Rs 254.35 crore while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 collected Rs 251.65 crore.

The combined domestic box office total of the two films now stands at Rs 506 crore, the biggest combined biz witnessed on Diwali by a massive margin.

While it was Singham Again that opened bigger in the first week, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 took the lead from the second week onwards and is now expected to record a higher lifetime biz than its much-bigger competitor.

Considering the good legs at the box office shown by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, it won’t be a surprise if it individually takes down the Rs 285.52 crore biz of Tiger 3 to become the biggest Diwali grosser ever.

The Kartik Aaryanstarrer only needs Rs 33.87 crore to achieve the feat.

While the combined box office biz of the two releases this Diwali has shattered records, the clash still didn’t make much sense because if the films have had solo releases, the potential was to hit way over Rs 300 crore individually which seems out of the picture now.

Both Singham Again and especially Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will continue to make money till December 5, 2024, when the box office tsunami Pushpa 2: The Rulearrives in theatres to shatter all records.
