New Delhi [India], November 20 (ANI): BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari slammed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), calling them "Maha Vinash Aghadi" over the alleged involvement of NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole in a Bitcoin scam.
Bhandari, on Wednesday, claimed that the MVA attempted to use "looted money of Rs 100 crores" through Bitcoin transactions in the ongoing elections in Maharashtra.
Bhandari raised questions about the alleged involvement of Sule and Patole with a Dubai-based dealer and demanded answers regarding the identity of other leaders implicated in the Bitcoin scam. He stated that neither of the two leaders had responded to these questions or clarified their connection to the deal.
"It has been proven now that 'Maha Vinash Aghadi' has tried to use the looted money of Rs 100 crores in these elections through bitcoin transactions. Neither Supriya Sule nor Nana Patole has been able to answer our specific questions. They have not been able to tell why they were in touch with the Dubai-based dealer and who the other big leaders involved in the Bitcoin cash scam are," Bhandari said.
Notably, retired IPS officer Ravindranath Patil from Pune has accused Supriya Sule and Nana Patole of being involved in a cryptocurrency fraud case from 2018, claiming that the funds from this fraud were used for election campaigns. These allegations have surfaced amid the ongoing Maharashtra Assembly elections, which are being held in a single phase on November 20.
Earlier today, BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan expressed his discontent over the matter, stating that it was a new low in Indian politics and public discourse.
"These scandalous and alarming allegations involving Congress leader Nana Patole and Supriya Sule in this cryptocurrency corruption and bitcoin mark a dismal new low in Indian politics and public discourse," Kesavan said. (ANI)
