Guwahati (Assam) [India], November 16 (ANI): Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah alleged that the Congress party is "working in favour of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis" and that the party has become a threat to national security.
Speaking to ANI, Baruah said, "There is a huge difference between pre-independence, post-independence Congress and the current Congress. The current Congress is working in favour of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. Rohingyas and Bangladeshis have become a big threat to the national security."
"Who is working in favour of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, they are also becoming a threat to the national security," he said.
The Assam Minister further said that, for that reason, the people of the country have rejected the Congress party.
Several BJP leaders have raised that the "infiltration" by Rohingyas could affect the population after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Ek hai toh safe hai" remark sparked a stir.
Earlier this month during an election rally in Maharashtra, PM Modi made the 'Ek hai toh safe hai' remark as he raised concerns over the growing number of Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators in Mumbai. (ANI)
