"It's a day to remember him, his thoughts": Sanjay Raut pays tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 17 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray saying that it's a day to remember him and his thoughts.
Raut asserted that it's been 12 years since he left this world but Balasaheb's ideas are still with them and hence Shiv Sena UBT is fighting in elections with his thoughts.
"Today is the remembrance day of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. 12 years have passed, Balasaheb left us only physically, his ideas are still with us. In this election, we are fighting for Balasaheb's ideas. Balasaheb founded Shiv Sena so that religion is protected in Maharashtra, the self-respect of Marathis here is protected, our ideas are protected. Our justice and rights, which Balasaheb talked about, are in danger... Therefore, today is the day to remember him, to remember his thoughts and we are definitely fighting this election with his thoughts," Raut said while addressing reporters.
Earlier today, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray on his death anniversary at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai. He was accompanied by his wife Rashmi Thackeray and other leaders of the party.

Party leader Anil Desai also paid floral tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray on his death anniversary.
Balasaheb Thackeray was the founder of the Shiv Sena party and is the father of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray.
Born on January 23, 1926, in Pune, Balasaheb Thackeray had begun his professional career as a cartoonist with the English-language daily 'The Free Press Journal'.
He later quit his professional job and founded the Shiv Sena in 1966 to advocate for the interests of the people of Maharashtra in Mumbai's political and professional landscape.
Thackeray was also the founder of the Marathi-language newspaper 'Saamana'. He did not hold any official positions during his political career.
Thackeray breathed his last on November 17, 2012, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 86. (ANI)
