National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather were among those who attended the event.
Speaker Rather told reporters, "It was a very good programme. People who were invited must have enjoyed it...I would surely ask the government (Jammu and Kashmir) to take every possible step to promote the culture of Kashmir."
Waheed Jeelani, Organizer of the Festival told ANI, "Our culture will live on through these events and such programmes should be held not in Srinagar but everywhere. The children should get inspiration about the need to keep alive our culture, melody and music".
Masarat, a local Singer said, "We all the artists get excited on hearing that we have to perform in such events. We get to know that our culture, Kashmiriyat is alive. Because we feel whether the Kashmiri language or Kashmir music is slowly and slowly fading away"?
Faheem a local said, "I think such matters are very important and should be available here in Kashmir. Our youth gets motivated towards anything. Such as I work in Mumbai. There is limited scope here due to some particular reasons".
"Such programmes should be held in Kashmir," he added. (ANI)
