Ambala (Haryana) [India], September 29 (ANI): Congress MP Kumari Shelja, while campaigning in Ambala, Haryana, for party candidate Parminder Pari, stated that the decision regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate would be made by the party's high command.
"The CM face will be decided by the party high command after the elections," Shelja responded when asked about the Congress candidate for the post of Chief Minister in Haryana.
Kumari Shelja further claimed that the party is receiving overwhelming public support and announced that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would be visiting Ambala on Monday.
Speaking to the press in Ambala, she said, "We are receiving massive support from the people, and we are hopeful that they will vote for the party, enabling us to form the government. Ambala is my old constituency, which is why I have come here. Tomorrow, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will visit this area. Our manifestos are always truthful, and we never make false promises."

Earlier, she campaigned in support of the party's candidate from the Kalka assembly seat, Pradeep Chaudhary, expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious in the upcoming assembly elections, despite facing numerous challenges.
"Congress candidate from Kalka, Pradeep Chaudhary, has faced many challenges. He has always stood by the public. The BJP has consistently conspired against Congress leaders. I am confident that people will vote for the Congress candidate in large numbers," Shelja told reporters on Sunday.

Pradeep Chaudhary has once again been fielded by the Congress from the Kalka seat. He previously won the constituency in the 2019 assembly polls, defeating BJP candidate Latika Sharma with a vote margin of 4.7 percent.
On Saturday, the Congress Party released its manifesto for the Haryana assembly elections, making significant promises, including free electricity, free medical treatment, financial assistance to women, an MSP guarantee for farmers, and the conduct of a caste census in the state.
Among the key highlights of the manifesto, the Congress has promised 300 units of free electricity and free medical treatment of up to Rs 25 lakhs for every family in Haryana. In line with Madhya Pradesh's 'Ladli Behen Yojana' and Maharashtra's 'Ladki Behen Yojana', the party has also pledged to provide Rs 2000 per month to women aged 18-60 in the state. Additionally, the manifesto promises a subsidy of Rs 500 for gas cylinders.
Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8. In 2019, the BJP emerged as the single largest party, winning 40 seats, while Congress secured 30. (ANI)
