Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Maharashtra) [India], November 17 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'ek hain toh safe hain' remark and said that he is right.
CM Yadav campaigned for the BJP and the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra on Sunday in the run-up to the assembly elections.
Speaking to ANI on Sunday in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, CM Yadav exuded confidence in the Mahayuti's victory and claimed on getting a "good response."
"We are getting a good response from the people. Based on the good work we have done over the years, Mahayuti will form the government with good numbers. PM Narendra Modi is right when he says 'ek hain toh safe hain'. The last time we were divided, it led to the partition of the country," CM Yadav said.
Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that it has been decided to buy cotton and soybeans with 15 per cent moisture following his recent discussion with the Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
"I have recently had a discussion with the Union Agriculture Minister on the issues faced by cotton and soybean farmers. It has been decided to immediately give MSP to the farmers. It has also been decided to buy cotton and soybeans with 15 per cent moisture. MSP of soybean is currently at Rs 1892 per quintal, cotton Rs 7121, and dry cotton Rs 7529," said CM Shinde while speaking to reporters in Mumbai.
"All the government schemes have had a positive impact in Maharashtra. Women are happy with the Ladli Bhena Yojana and other schemes, so I think that the government of Mahayuti will be formed," CM Shinde added.
Voting for the 288-member Maharashtra assembly is scheduled to be held on November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42. (ANI)
