New Delhi [India], November 13 (ANI): The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested wanted shooter Mogli, who was involved in recent firing incidents in Nangloi and Alipur. Mowgli, whose real name is Ramniwas, is a member of the Deepak Boxer Gogi gang.
On November 4, Mogli and his associates opened fire at business establishments in Nangloi and Alipur. Police recovered several weapons from their possession.
According to the special cell's statement, "On 4.11.24, two separate incidents of gunfire occurred at Shree Lakshmi Plywood in Nangloi and the office of Goel Properties in Alipur. These incidents were reported under FIR No. 760/24 in PS Nangloi and FIR No. 699/24 in PS Alipur." Both FIRs include charges under sections related to attempt to murder and the Arms Act.
The Special Cell was tasked with investigating the case. Using CCTV footage and human intelligence, the police identified one of the shooters as Ramniwas alias Mogli, a resident of Village Khera Khurd, Delhi.
On November 13, police received specific information that Mowgli would be near the Khera Canal in the Shahbad Dairy area during the early morning hours. Acting on the tip-off, a raid was conducted. Police set up a roadblock near the canal, and when they saw Mowgli approaching on a motorcycle, they tried to stop him. However, Mowgli lost control of his bike and fell. He then fired at the police, prompting them to return fire in self-defense. One of the bullets struck Mowgli in his left leg, injuring him. He was immediately overpowered and taken to the hospital.
Police recovered several items from Mogli's possession, including: A semi-automatic .32 bore pistol used in the earlier shootings, a country-made pistol also used in the firing, and a stolen motorcycle.
Mogli has been involved in at least 10 previous criminal cases. The crime team, FSL team, and PCR were called to the spot for further investigation, which is ongoing. (ANI)
