40-year-old HCL Technologies employee dies of cardiac arrest in Nagpur office's washroom

In what has become a concerning trend, a 40-year-old employee of HCL Technologies has died from cardiac arrest in the washroom of the company's Nagpur office. Officials confirmed the incident, which occurred on Friday, drawing attention to health issues in the workplace.

The deceased has been identified as Nitin Edwin Michael, a senior analyst at HCL Technologies. In a PTI report, an official from the Sonegaon police station stated, “At around 7 pm on Friday, the man was found unresponsive after he entered the washroom of the company’s office in the Mihan area.”

His colleagues acted quickly, rushing him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Nagpur, but he was declared dead upon arrival.


Following the incident, the Sonegaon police registered a case of accidental death and sent Michael’s body for postmortem examination. Initial findings indicated that Michael died of cardiac arrest. The police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death to determine any underlying factors that may have contributed.

Nitin Edwin Michael is survived by his wife and a six-year-old son.
