Country music icon Garth Brooks has been slammed with multiple rape accusations. Douglas Wigdor, an attorney representing the alleged victims compared the ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’ hitmaker to disgraced music mogul Sean Diddy Combs, who too has been linked to several cases of sexual assault and human trafficking.

“It seems as though Sean Combs and Garth Brooks are using the same public relations team by attacking legitimate victims,” Wigdor said. “Over time the public will see his true character rather than his highly curated persona.”

On Thursday, news emerged that Brooks, 62, had been accused of sexual misconduct in a lawsuit, which he swiftly denied. He claimed that the lawsuit was an attempt to extort "many millions of dollars" in "hush money." In a statement, Brooks remarked, "It feels like having a loaded gun pointed at me. Hush money, regardless of the amount, is still hush money. To me, it implies that I'm admitting to actions I could never commit—horrible acts that no person should ever inflict on another. I want to keep focusing on our positive work moving forward."

“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another. … I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be,” he added.

Diddy was taken into custody on September 16, facing charges of racketeering and human trafficking, followed by an additional 120 lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct.

In a lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, an unidentified woman accused Brooks of raping her in a Los Angeles hotel in 2019 after she had been hired as a hairstylist for him and his wife, country music star Trisha Yearwood.

The plaintiff, referred to as “Jane Doe,” claimed she had worked for Yearwood since 1999 and began working for Brooks as well in 2017.
