Andhra Pradesh rain news: The India Meteorological Department ( IMD) has issued a warning for isolated heavy rains and thunderstorms in parts of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema over the next three days. Districts likely to experience significant rainfall from November 11 to 14 include Krishna, Guntur, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore, Tirupati, Annamayya, Chittoor, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Konaseema, and West Godavari.
Farmers Advised to Take Precautions
With this rainfall forecast, farmers in these areas are urged to exercise caution, especially during the ongoing paddy harvest and other agricultural work. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has also advised local residents to stay alert and be prepared for the upcoming weather.
Cyclonic Circulation Over Bay of Bengal
The IMD has noted a cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal, extending up to 5.8 km above sea level, leaning southeast. This system could develop into a low-pressure area and is expected to move westward towards the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka in the coming days. Additionally, a trough extending from the southwest Bay of Bengal to the east-central Bay of Bengal is impacting weather patterns, with effects reaching up to 1.5 km above sea level.
Heavy Rain Predicted for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka
The IMD forecasts that, due to a forming low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, southern states such as Tamil Nadu and Kerala will likely see heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning from November 12 to 15. Coastal and South Interior Karnataka might also experience intense rainfall, particularly on November 14. Meanwhile, dense fog is anticipated over parts of northwest Rajasthan, West Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh in the next few days.
