Kartik Aaryan's experiment gone wrong : How the actor's curiosity led to his sister's hair catching fire

Kartik Aaryan, known for his stellar performances and infectious charm, has always had a playful side that often led to amusing situations, especially in his childhood. His mother, Mala Tiwari, recently shared a hilarious yet slightly alarming story about one of his childhood experiments that left his sister, Kritika, in a bit of a fiery predicament.

Kartik's Curious Experiment Goes Wrong

In a candid interview with Galatta India, Mala recounted how Kartik, ever the curious child, decided to test a deodorant’s flammability. "Kartik was always very curious," Mala explained. One day, noticing the flammable warning on a deodorant bottle, he wanted to see if it would actually ignite. With his sister, Kritika, by his side, he asked her to light a candle so he could spray the deodorant through the flame.

Unfortunately, Kartik got a little carried away with the spray, and soon enough, Kritika’s hair caught fire. Thankfully, the flames were quickly put out, but not before Kartik found himself facing some serious consequences. "Since Kartik did this, he got a beating," Mala recalled, though she couldn’t help but laugh as she shared the story.

Kartik, who was also part of the interview, quickly defended himself, laughing as he added, “I didn’t mean to burn her hair. She was just in the wrong spot, and when the flames went up, one side of her hair caught fire. I immediately started throwing water on her.” However, he acknowledged, "My mom was really angry at me after that."

From Engineering Exams to Film Scripts

While Kartik’s childhood was full of such humorous and occasionally dangerous incidents, his mother also reflected on his early days of balancing his education and dreams of becoming an actor. While studying engineering at DY Patil University in Mumbai, Kartik was already pursuing acting opportunities, which meant juggling his academic commitments with film auditions.

Mala recalled how, during exam season, Kartik would sometimes write parts of his film scripts instead of focusing on his studies. "He would write parts of Pyaar Ka Punchnama's script during his exams," she remembered fondly. Kartik himself clarified, "Actually, I wrote the story of Punchnama 2, not Pyaar Ka Punchnama."

Despite the chaos of his early life, Kartik’s determination never wavered. Mala spoke about how she would accompany him to his shoots and exams, offering support. "I would sit next to him, helping him study, saying, 'Beta, yeh important hai, yeh important hai,’" she shared. Kartik, in turn, would drive his old third-hand car between his university and shooting locations, with his mother by his side, waiting outside while he sat for exams.

Today, Kartik Aaryan is reaping the rewards of his hard work. His recent release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has been a massive hit at the box office, grossing over Rs 200 crore within just two weeks of its release.
